Huge Victory for Real People as Net Neutrality bill dies

Summary:  The article discusses the recent decision by Congress to stop senator Ted Stevens’ bill regarding Net Neutrality and a multi-tiered internet.  The lawmaking regarding the internet has now been passed on to a new congress, which is looking to be more friendly towards technology and the internet.    The 109th congress has come to a close, and the next congress looks to be much more “web-friendly”.

Reason:  Net Neutrality has been a big ethical issue, which we have discussed in class before.  I picked this article, as my last discussion topic, because it seems to bring closure to an issue which has been important to those involved in technology for the last couple of months. This bill being revoked means, at least for now, the internet will remain the same, no matter what, with no bias towards governments or big business.

Credibility:  This article comes from SaveTheInternet, a major coalition group regarding net neutrality and an unbiased internet.
