Titles and Transitions

Let’s move on and add some transitions and a title to your project. Click the <Editing> button on your toolbar.

There are lots of different options in this window for using your clips. Today, we’re just going to be working with the Title and Transitions sections. Let’s insert a title, at the beginning of our movie. Click the <Titles> button (the button is located in the upper right of iMovie) , and pick a title theme that looks cool to you. The preview of the title will show in the preview window while you are working on it. You can type your title in the box(es) right below the title selections. When you have created your title, drag the ICON beside your selected title into your timeline. This will insert the title into your movie.

Now, click the <Transitions> button (in the same bar as the <Titles> button), and well insert a transition into your movie. Again, pick one that looks good to you. When you have it choses, take note of the speed of your transition. Speed is measured in seconds, and we don’t want your viewer to be waiting forever for the next scene, so lets set the speed to 5 seconds. Drag the bar so that the Speed slider reads “00:05”, or just type that into the box next to the slider. After you are done setting up your transition, just drag the ICON next to your selected transition in between your two video clips.

Your movie is complete! Now, lets export it to a format which anyone can view!
